A Brief History of

Blue Haven Hotel Kinsale

The Blue Haven Hotel, on Pearse Street, the Long Quay, stands on the site of the former Fish Market, opened in 1784. The Dempsey family had a hotel there, later purchased by the Heathcotes who named it the Blue Haven and sold it to Brian and Anne Cronin in 1976. The international reputation for excellence they established has been enhanced by the present owners, the Fitzgerald family who have carried out extensive renovations.

It is the centre for many town activities and the location for a number of exhibitions by well-known artists while “ times past “ are recalled by the photographs on permanent display in "Café Blue"
